Dear Colleague,

First of all, Happy New Year and the very best wishes for a prosperous 2024. We do hope that you have started 2024 in the very best way. FIG has - more or less.
A necessary change and upgrade of the FIG web server has caused some challenges (and are still causing). Updates made after 12 December (membership updates, registrations for the Working Week etc) may have been lost - but not all.
We would please ask you to whitelist emails coming from "@fig.net" - you might be able to do it yourself or please ask your IT department for help. Otherwise mails from us might end in a spam filter or are completely rejected...
These difficulties have led us to postpone the registration and submission of paper for authors for the FIG Working Week 2024 to 29 January.
For all other participants the deadline for Early Bird Registration is still 19 February 2024.
We do hope to see you there.
Election for two new Vice Presidents will be held at the General Assembly in Accra in 2024 (note the nomination deadline 11 January 2024), however FIG Council has decided to postpone the election of Commission Chairs Elects until 2025 after having consulted the current Commission Chairs.
Read more about this, the first High-Level meeting of African Presidents, get to know UN-GGCE, and many other things in this newsletter that concludes a year filled with activties and undertakings during this first year of the current term of leadership.
