TECHNICAL TOURS

This technical tour will not be pretty, but it will be informative! We will return to the Lagoon where the UMaT students will undertake a further plastic waste survey, capturing the data using UAV multispectral and aerial imagery sensors. Invitations have been extended to the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, the University of Ghana, UMaT, UNDP and other interested organisations in Ghana as well as to all Working Week delegates. This demonstration will also serve to promote discussion on how the surveying and spatial community, and Working Group 4.3 in particular, can assist with the remediation of this site and others inundated with plastic waste in Ghana and throughout the region.

The Lands Commission plays a vital role in shaping Ghana's land management and sustainable development with a mission to provide high quality, reliable and efficient services in geographic information, guaranteed tenure, property valuation, surveying & mapping through teamwork and modern technology to our stakeholders.

Akosombo Dam, situated on the Volta River in Ghana, holds significant tourism value due to its unique features and offerings.
